Wow! What an experience this weekend was… Incipio came, saw and conquered the gifting suite at KROQ’s annual Weenie roast. Saturday was an awesome star studded event with bands and celebrities flocking towards our brightly colored Incipio booth. Foster the People, A Day To Remember, Cage the Elephant and Rise Against were just a few of the bands who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the hottest device covers. The much-anticipated Smart feather® is now available! As its name suggests, the Smart feather® integrates the Apple Smart Cover with Incipio’s best-selling, lightweight, hard shell feather® case for the iPad 2.
The Smart feather has already received rave reviews from those who have seen pre-production samples. Peter Rojas, co-founder of the website gdgt, said that “the Smart feather® is amazing, so light” after seeing the case at gdgt San Francisco in May 2011.
The Smart feather® addresses two issues that iPad 2 users experience with the Smart Cover: scratching and accidental detachment. First, the Smart Cover only protects the screen of the iPad 2 and leaves the back of the device exposed to scratches. Many users are seeking full protection from a case that covers the back of the iPad 2, but still works with the Smart Cover in terms of look and feel. To solve this problem, Incipio custom-molded the rear portion of its feather® case to fit the contours of the iPad 2, ensuring a snug and sturdy hold.
Second, the Smart Cover is secured to the iPad 2 via two small magnets connected by a small metal spine located on the edge of the cover. These magnets become detached easily during use. With great attention to detail, Incipio® strategically placed cutouts in the Smart feather®, allowing the Apple Smart Cover magnets to adhere to the iPad 2 near each of the two side corners. With Incipio’s secure design, the Smart Cover will not detach unexpectedly from the iPad 2.
